Just found that John Irving, one of my favorite authors just "dropped by" the Philippines.

My officemate just lost his brand new Iphone 4 [bought last december] to bus thieves.

These thieves are called "Ipit-ipit Gang" and their modus operandi: in a crowded bus, they try to distract their victim by crowding him a bit more. Once target is distracted, they use their quick hands to reach inside the bag or pocket.

I feel for my officemate. He purchased the Iphone 4 as a reward for his hard work for 2010. Yeah, you can say it was paid for through sheer blood, sweat and tears.

But then again, you shouldn't use your phone in a bus. It will attract evil.
