Not NICK HORNBY. "High Fidelity" was awesome, but that's the only book I liked.
Not JD SALINGER. "Catcher in the Rye" is sooooo high school.
AYN RAND? Never read her books.
HARUKI MURAKAMI? Who?
PAOLO COELHO? Seems profoundly mushy.
So who then?
Presenting... ta da da daaahhh...
MIKE GAYLE!
Mike who? Well, he's a black Englishman who has written scores of books about "blokes" relatively my age... their lives, loves, relationships, etc. I think I've read 70 to 80 percent if 'em. I like his books and stories because he isn't trying to be profound but still his words [I hate using the following word but it's the only thing I can think of for now] resonate within me. Here's a sample of his stuff...
I will just start on Nick Hornby next week ;-)
ReplyDeleteJD Salinger, I've only read one. But it's one of my fave books of all time.
Ayn Rand, trip na trip ko nung college.
Murakami, I've read about 90% of his books. You will like him, promise! Kasi, weird siya.
Cohello, nababaduyan ako sa kanya, I'm sorry.
Mike Gayle.......hmmmm, interesting. Pabasa ng isa ;-)
